March 2025
Roman’s Grandma Janet started sewing Roman’s Wraps in her home late into the night. This was unsustainable as a solo endeavor. Encouraged by friends and teacher colleagues, it was suggested to have Roman’s Wrap Assembly/Sewing gatherings In addition, other friends came forward to make wraps in their homes or to make the pocket linings so assembly is quicker and easier. To date, nearly 600 wraps have been donated across the nation and we have another 150 in inventory waiting for hospitals and organizations to order them. This would not be possible without the generous gift of time and talents from our volunteers. Many volunteers don’t know how to sew, but they learn how to assemble, pin, iron and package the wraps which helps the people who do know how to sew, produce more wraps in a shorter amount of time.
Two Roman Wrap Assemblies have taken place recently at South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in Ettrick, WI and Grace Lutheran Church in Dodgeville, WI. Each session of about 6 hours produced over 100 packaged wraps. As the saying goes, “Many hands make for light work.” Volunteers look forward to more assembly sessions because of how rewarding the experience is to work together to help grieving families.
