Ho-Chunk Gaming Black River Falls proudly presented a check today in the amount of $2,179.04 to the Roman Brooks Woodward Foundation.

Roman's Wraps offer grieving families a little more time to say goodbye to their precious babies—a mission born from.... unimaginable loss, now bringing comfort to others across the country.

Half of the donation came from unclaimed slot ticket funds generously left behind by our guests, and the other half was matched by Ho-Chunk Gaming Black River Falls.

We are honored to support such a meaningful and compassionate cause.

Roman's Wraps are made with love and caring by generous volunteers.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Roman's Wraps creator, Janet Woodward was a guest speaker at the "Babies Gone Too Soon" 13th Annual Memorial Walk event.... in Dodgeville, WI.

"Babies Gone Too Soon", is an organization dedicated to helping families who have dealt with the loss of babies. They raise money for cuddle cots to be donated to hospitals and provide support to grieving families in many other ways. The "Babies Gone Too Soon" organization is a proud supporter of Roman's Wraps and they were kind enough to invite Janet to speak to the crowd and spread the word about the incredible impact Roman's' Wraps are having on this community.Wraps, but could not attend the assembly on that particular day requested materials to sew at their homes. All Roman's  Wraps are hand made by volunteers with love in their hearts. Our mission would not be possible without the efforts of these wonderful volunteers.

Roman's Wraps are made with love and caring by generous volunteers.

Roman's Grandma Janet started sewing Roman's Wraps in her home late into the night.  This was unsustainable as a solo endeavor.  Encouraged by friends and teacher colleagues, it was suggested to have Roman's Wrap Assembly/Sewing.... gatherings In addition, other friends came forward to make wraps in their homes or to make the pocket linings so assembly is quicker and easier. To date, nearly 600 wraps have been donated across the nation and we have another 150 in inventory waiting for hospitals and organizations to order them. This would not be possible without the generous gift of time and talents from our volunteers.  Many volunteers don't know how to sew, but they learn how to assemble, pin, iron and package the wraps which helps the people who do know how to sew, produce more wraps in a shorter amount of time.

Two Roman Wrap Assemblies have taken place recently at South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in Ettrick, WI and Grace Lutheran Church in Dodgeville, WI.  Each session of about 6 hours produced over 100 packaged wraps.  As the saying goes, "Many hands make for light work."  Volunteers look forward to more assembly sessions because of how rewarding the experience is to work together to help grieving families.

A community with purpose.

On Sunday January 26, 2025,  Janet and Jeff Woodward, Roman's paternal grandparents, hosted a gathering of volunteers to help make more Roman's Wraps. The crew of 19 people produced  191 wraps!  There's no way this many wraps would have been made in this.... amount of time without the preparation of cutting and making the liners for Roman's Wraps by people who could not attend the assembly.  Others who wanted to make Roman's Wraps, but could not attend the assembly on that particular day requested materials to sew at their homes. All Roman's  Wraps are hand made by volunteers with love in their hearts. Our mission would not be possible without the efforts of these wonderful volunteers.

Testimonials

Please accept our most sincere gratitude for such a meaningful and beautiful donation to support others during an unimaginable time.

When I opened the package, I was blown away to see the care, skill and detail you put into making the Roman's wraps!.... I was moved to tears. They are so beautiful and heart-warming.

The Birth Suites team has them and will offer them in conjunction with the cuddle cot. As you mention, I hope they collect dust as well, but we all know these tragedies do happen.

Blessings to you from everyone at St. Mary's Foundation.

All our best, Dina

I wanted to personally reach out and thank you for the generous gifts you have given our patients (and nurses!). The wraps are SO beautiful and cozy. We will wrap the baby angels in them and ....give them to parents to hold their babies close. This means so much to us.

Your website is beautiful, and I am so sorry for your loss of Roman. It is a very special human who can turn the ache of a loss into a gift for others suffering the same. I hope this email gives you comfort in knowing that your immense love for Roman lives on here at UCSF in every wrap.

Big Hug of Gratitude, (and cc'ing my manager Aislinn who found you)

Testimonials

Hello,

I wanted to take the time to thank you and your company from providing the roman wraps for our patients during this exceptionally difficult time in their lives..... I have come to learn that the Roman Wraps are more geared towards allowing the family to be close to their baby while still keeping the environment optimal for the deceased infant. While the other options are wonderful ideas, I think the roman wraps are more practical in the situations we encounter as most families don't want to be far away from the infant and they hold them for extended times. This allows the families to grieve while at the same time providing the needed cooling temp to delay the inevitable changes that occur after death. This time is invaluable to the families and is made easier with the Roman Wrap.

Thank you,
